Xkah Pro vs. Xkah Lite – Which Electric Shisha Head is Right for You?

Xkah Pro vs. Xkah Lite – Welcher elektrische Shisha-Kopf ist der richtige? – Ratgeber von Smokez

What exactly is the Xkah?

The Xkah is an electric shisha head – not a vaporizer, not an e-cigarette, but a device that electrically heats your regular shisha tobacco without the need for charcoal. You place it on your shisha, select the heat, and after a short warm-up phase, your session begins. No lighting, no adding charcoal, no smoke above your head.

Smokez carries both Xkah models: the Xkah Lite and the Xkah Pro. Both operate on the same basic principle and use the same pods – but differ significantly in power supply, operation, and application area. Which model is better for you depends primarily on where you smoke and how much mobility means to you.

Xkah Lite – wired, but unlimited

The Xkah Lite costs €269.99 and is the newer of the two models. While it sounds like the smaller sibling, that's not entirely true: in many ways, the Lite is an upgrade. All experiences from operating the Pro have been incorporated into the new version.

The most important difference first: The Lite has no battery. It runs via a power cable (1.50 m, with power supply included) directly from the wall socket. This means unlimited sessions without charging breaks – as long as the socket is nearby. For those who primarily use the Xkah at home, there are no disadvantages; they simply smoke indefinitely.

The Lite is operated with a rotary dial. No display, no menu, no learning curve – switch on the device, set the mode with the dial, done. This was a deliberate choice: maximum simplicity, zero learning curve.

Compared to the Pro, several improvements have also been made to the Lite: the casing is smaller, handier, and lighter. The head adapter gasket is thicker and sits firmly in the device. The airflow has been optimized, resulting in less draw resistance. And the design does without a hinge, eliminating the Pro's previous weak point (hinge wear). Additionally, the Lite is now compatible with even wider head connections.

Included in the delivery: 1× Xkah Lite, 1× power supply, 1× power cable (1.50 m), 2× tobacco pods, 2× silicone adapters, 1× tongs, 1× fork poker.

Xkah Pro – Battery-powered for more flexibility

The Xkah Pro costs €329.99 and is the older model. Its biggest advantage: removable battery. The built-in battery provides sessions of about 90 minutes – and when it's empty, you can simply insert a charged replacement battery (Xkah Pro Battery, €79.99) and continue seamlessly. No power outlet needed.

This makes the Pro the better choice if you regularly smoke on the balcony, in the garden, or on the go and don't have a power outlet nearby. With a spare battery in your pocket, the Pro can be used independently wherever you want.

Operation is via a digital display where you can view and adjust temperature and mode. This provides more control and an overview of the current settings. The delivery also includes a travel bag to protect the device during transport.

Regarding pods and compatibility: Both devices use the same pods. You can use replacement pods for the Pro on the Lite – and vice versa. Those who already have accessories for one do not need to buy anything new for the other.

Which device is right for whom?

The decision is simpler than it looks - it's almost entirely about one question: power outlet nearby, yes or no?

Xkah Lite is the right choice if you primarily use your Xkah at home and have a fixed spot on the table. You can then smoke for as long as you want without thinking about recharging. The rotary dial makes operation quick and uncomplicated. For €269.99, you get the technically advanced model with improved airflow, more stable construction, and wider head connections.

Xkah Pro is worthwhile if you want to use the Xkah flexibly - on the balcony without an outlet, at friends' houses, or while traveling. The replaceable battery makes the crucial difference here. With a spare battery, you are completely independent. The display also gives you a better overview of the current settings.

FAQ - Xkah Lite and Pro

How do I change the temperature on the Xkah Lite?

The Xkah Lite does not have a display. The temperature or mode is set via a rotary dial. Switch on, turn the dial, done. This makes operation very intuitive - no menus, no buttons, zero learning curve. On the Pro, this is done via digital buttons with a display.

Can Xkah Lite and Xkah Pro use the same pods?

Yes. Both models use the same pods. The Xkah Pro Replacement Pod 2-pack (€19.99) works with both Lite and Pro. Existing accessories can simply continue to be used.

Does the Xkah Lite have a battery?

No. The Lite does not have a battery - it runs exclusively via the included power cable (1.50 m). This means unlimited sessions as long as a power outlet is nearby. The Pro, on the other hand, has a replaceable battery for about 90 minutes of session duration - ideal for use without a power outlet.

Do I still need charcoal if I use the Xkah?

No. The Xkah heats your tobacco electrically - completely without charcoal. You only need your regular shisha tobacco, the Xkah pods, and a power outlet (for the Lite) or a charged battery (for the Pro). Charcoal becomes completely superfluous.
